She puts this belief into practice as an award-winning science communicator, enthusiastic speaker, and event moderator. Alex holds a PhD in immunology from the University of Amsterdam, where her research focused on the role of autophagy in host–virus interactions. After her PhD, she transitioned fully into scientific communication and marketing. This background helps her to communicate clearly, accurately, and strategically - even when it comes to the most complex scientific content. Alongside her role as Marketing and Communications Manager at Oncode Accelerator, Alex is the creator of Microbial Mondays, a blog and podcast dedicated to improving public understanding of microbiology, an ambassador for TOPX, a network and training platform for ambitious women in the life sciences, and a contributor to Biotech News.
